These amounts are based on an internship period of up to 5 months and exclude the costs for:
- Visa
- Flight tickets
- Vaccinations
- Rent accommodation
- Rental vehicle and/or taxi costs
- Costs insurances
Frequently asked questions
At most organizations, institutions and companies, you will not receive an internship stipend. Some companies reimburse meals or local travel expenses.
A minimum age of 18 is required for internship or volunteer work.
Yes, there are plenty of ATMs that accept Dutch bank cards. Credit cards are also accepted almost everywhere.
Regardless of length of stay the following vaccinations are recommended for Indonesia: vaccination against DTP and vaccination against hepatitis A. For stays longer than three months, vaccinations are recommended for Indonesia against typhoid fever, hepatitis B, rabies and in some cases tuberculosis. Sometimes vaccinations against these diseases are recommended for Indonesia for shorter stays. Always consult the GGD yourself for up-to-date information on vaccinations.
The same plugs and sockets are used in Indonesia as in the Netherlands, 230 volts
Indonesia is generally a safe island. Be mindful of your belongings, though, because unfortunately pickpockets walk everywhere in the world. During your stay, close your suitcase with important items in it just to be sure. Avoid risks of theft.

Yes, that is possible! You can live in the same accommodation & do an internship at the same company/project. This is dependent on availability.
