We arrange accommodation for your son or daughter, which meets western standards. We have various options, from a student house with a swimming pool to a stay with a host family. We respond to the wishes of your son or daughter.
Indonesia is generally a safe country. We do everything we can to ensure that your son or daughter is safe while participating in the project. There is always a project coordinator on site and available 24/7 in case of emergency. In addition, we always ask for the contact details of a family member who is close to your son or daughter, in case of emergency.
Indonesia is a democratic country with a population that consists of a Muslim majority. Indonesians are known for their friendliness and hospitality. Your child will probably feel very welcome. However, it is important to take certain things into account. For example, it is not customary in Indonesia to show affection for each other in public and elders are highly respected in Indonesian culture. When visiting temples, schools and government institutions, shoulders and legs must be covered. In tourist areas, swimwear is accepted, but when your child is in a non-tourist area, this may not always be appreciated.
He or she will need at least liability insurance and health insurance, which also covers Indonesia. We ask all participants to take out insurance that includes repatriation costs and to carefully check which emergency aid is and is not covered by the insurance.
Yes, all over the world there are people studying, traveling or volunteering in Indonesia. There are plenty of nightlife and events where western people can meet each other.

Just like in the Netherlands, there is also internet in Indonesia. Most restaurants, hotels and homes have WiFi. In addition, there are often numerous internet cafes nearby. Your child will receive a local SIM card from Intern Indonesia, so that your child can always be reached.
There is always a project coordinator available 24/7. Although serious illnesses or accidents fortunately hardly occur, we ensure that your child has the correct emergency numbers and that the project coordinator is on site as quickly as possible in case of an emergency. Make sure that your child always has their health insurance card with them. In the event of a serious illness or accident, you and your insurance company can be contacted.
No, it is forbidden by law in Indonesia to receive a salary for an internship or volunteer work. However, there are possibilities for subsidies or financial support. In the Netherlands, it can be examined what is possible in this.
